Portal With RTX Is completely Stunning And Runs Well Around the RTX 4080

What looked flat in the original game (that we confirmed by going back to it), now feels alive. Balls of sunshine now beam off the worlds using the world who are around you being fully reflective in real-time, passing on a larger sense of immersion and scale. Similarly, the portals think about the walls surrounding them as well, making the planet feel more 3D and fewer flat.

With my RTX 4080 at 4K, the sport ran at approximately 79 FPS when benefiting from DLSS 3.0 which once again really made playing farmville in 4K a real possibility (that we touched on quite a bit in my 4080 review here). For reference, without DLSS 3.0 switched on, I had been only capable of getting about 32 FPS which wildly changed the knowledge, and that i would have needed to drop it down from 4K with no brilliance that is DLSS 3.0.

As much as this seems like a tech demo to show off real-time ray-traced reflections (and it is), this once more feels like NVIDIA showing why DLSS 3.0 is going to be really important to delivering around the 4K dream.

When you are looking at 3000 series owners, NVIDIA states that you can expect 60FPS at 1080p with a 3080 and 30FPS at 1080p having a 3060 both utilising DLSS 2.0, so that by itself shows how different the experience is with the RTX 4080 and DLSS 3.0.

Now, am I going to recommend that you run out and purchase an RTX 4080 simply to play Portal with RTX? Most likely not, but it’s free if you’re the owner from the game on Steam, and if you do occur to pickup a RTX 4080 or already possess a 3000 series card, I absolutely suggest that you jump back to farmville. Not just for the great game that it's, but to look into the ray-traced goodness, and if you’re a 4080 owner, the impressive technology that is DLSS 3.0.
