Mojang has revealed the final feature set to become contained in Minecraft's upcoming 1.20 update – a cherry blossom biome.
Minecraft's 1.20 update was revealed this past year and will be released at some point in 2023. Mojang has spent recent years days revealing what features the 1.20 update will entail including the sniffer which is, based on an announcement, an “ancient mob” that was voted for by fans.
Yesterday (February 14) Mojang unveiled that the final feature to become contained in the big Minecraft update is the cherry blossom biome.
“This beautiful biome is stuffed with cherry blossom trees that bring a distinctive turn to the horizon his or her crowns are big and flat, like fluffy pink clouds. It is no surprise that three adorable mobs, pigs, sheep, and bees, are attracted to them and can spawn in this biome,” said Mojang within the announcement.
“The cherry tree can be broken down right into a full wood-set in addition to crafted in to the new hanging sign that's also arriving Minecraft 1.20! There are also cherry tree saplings within the biome, so you can plant them wherever you would like.”
While there is no release date for Minecraft's 1.20 update, these new features could be tested out via the java snapshots and bedrock betas. Find out how to access these early access tests here.
Earlier within the month, Mojang announced a collaboration with Crocs that added the footwear in to the game alongside a real world assortment of shoes.
Elsewhere, London Mayor Sadiq Khan recently popularized Minecraft to ask players to help redesign the town of Croydon, using the aim of developing a “greener, safer, and much more prosperous spot for everyone.”
