'BioShock' creator's new game 'Judas' gets official launch window

Judas, the debut game from BioShock creator Ken Levine's Ghost Story Games has been given an official release window by parent company Take-Two.

In December, it had been confirmed that Ghost Story Games' first title would be Judas also it could be visiting PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store at some stage in time.

Judas' synopsis reads: “A disintegrating starship. A desperate escape plan. You're the mysterious and troubled Judas. Your only hope for survival is to make or break alliances with your worst enemies. Are you going to work together to repair what you broke – or are you going to leave it to burn?”

Not anything else was revealed concerning the game, but Take-Two has confirmed that Judas will be released before March 2025.

The news comes with an earnings call, that saw the publisher confirm 87 titles (including Judas) could be released between now and also the end of March 2025, though 38 of those are mobile games.

Speaking about the chance of delays though, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick told IGN. “We did have some slippage within the last few years. “We really feel stable right now. Personally i think great about our upcoming schedule.”

“Of course, almost always there is the potential of some slippage however the teams appear to be functioning really well and i am optimistic about delivering great titles to the marketplace with an ongoing basis,” he added.

Levine formed Ghost Story Games following the closure of BioShock studio Irrational Games in 2023. A 2023 report claimed the studio was at “turmoil” after losing key staff members.

In a rare interview later that year, Levine explained his way of thinking with regards to creating games, stating that the number one rule that developers should try to learn is “throwing away” your projects.

In other news, Former Fall Guys art lead Anna Hollinrake has announced her new studio with Flavourworks co-founder Pavle Mihajlovi'c. Electric Saint was founded in Autumn 2023 and is on a mission to make “games for underserved audiences,” based on a press release.
